Chanel Rouge Allure Pirate nr 99 has an emotional meaning for me. I received it on Christmas Day from my sister-in-law. Only someone that knows you so good can find you the perfect gift as such. It is my very first Chanel lipstick to own. Yes, I am in my thirties and this is my very very first lipstick ever that I try from Chanel. All things come at the right time I believe. Or? I’ve been very faithful to my Ruby Woo matte liptick from Mac Cosmetics. Check the review – Ruby Woo by Mac – the best of matte.
I am at my maximum surprise how my sister-in-law found the perfect lipstick for my features. The Pirate nr 99 goes infallibly with green eyes, brown hair and white/warm white(yellowish) medium tones skin. Chanel Hydrabase Pirate is a perfection of the Red lipstick colour – not neon, not orange, not blue or purple, not anything but sheer glamour velvet colour that looks very classic. The Red that you can define as one that the movie stars wear.
The shade defines the lips and gives a beautiful mouth. The texture feels matte on lips with little bit of moisture which makes Pirate very balanced and pleasant lipstick to wear – not shiny, not drying, not smudging around. The formula was reinvented making it more pigmented combined with moisturising and antioxidant agents to make the lips more supple. The packaging is a little bit tricky until you discover “how to”, if not there is an instruction included. Probably not the most lasting formula but definitely favourite for colour and formula. This is without doubt one of my Best Lipstick. If I wouldn’t received this lipstick as a gift I would definitely purchase it as luxurious treat. A truly beautiful present to give to your beloved though. Thank you, Marina <3 photo by my lovely husband
